Dr. Gloria Rivera King, Ph.D., LMHC, LMFT, NCC, CIRT earned her doctorate degree from Barry University based in Miami Shores, FL where she obtained her Doctorate of Philosophy in 2005 in Counseling with a Specialization in Marriage and Family Therapy. Prior to that she obtained her Master’s Degree in Mental Health Counseling from Rollins College in Winter Park, Florida in 1996. Dr. King is dually licensed as both a Mental Health Counselor and a Marriage and Family Therapist. She is also a Nationally Certified Counselor. She is a Certified IMAGO Relationship Therapist, and additionally, she has also been trained in Level II of Gottman Couples Therapy to offer yet another approach to couples/marital problems. She has over 26 years of clinical experience treating individuals and couples. She worked at Seminole Community Mental Health Center in Fern Park, Florida after receiving her Master’s Degree then worked at Catholic Charities of Central Florida in Orlando, Florida for 10 years. She started out as a counseling staff member and ended her tenure there as the Counseling Director for her last 3 years there.  After marrying and relocating to Melbourne, Florida she began her private practice in 2007 where her practice continues to flourish.

After many years in practice working with various issues and clients, Dr. King has focused on the specialty areas of affair recovery and infidelity, pre-marital counseling, separation and divorce counseling, life transitions, and women’s issues. Whatever situation you are facing Dr. King can provide you clarity, direction, discernment, education, coaching, and guidance for you to navigate your individual and couple journey to live your most authentic life.

Dr. King has been married over 15 years. Despite fertility challenges she and her husband faced, they consider themselves very lucky to have the unconditional love of their ‘kids’; two fur babies. Both avid dog lovers, she and her husband thoroughly enjoy spoiling and caring for their dogs: Sasha, a Morkie, and Toby, a Yorkie (that does’t look like a Yorkie, but he is). You may see one or both of them at the office from time to time!

Dr. King is a member of the American Counseling Association and the Space Coast Mental Health Counselor’s Association.
